I have to admit that I enjoy the Christmas cards which include photos. I plaster them on my fridge or hang them on the wall in my office and they provide visual reminders for me to pray for my friends throughout the year.
I'd love to send out a picture perfect card to my friends and family, but getting that picture would not be pretty. Our schedules are crazy and no one wants to take the time to sit and smile for 2.5 seconds (as if it would kill them to humor me). Oh yea, the fact that I am too cheap to pay someone to take the photo probably has something to do with the lack of quality family photos in my home!
Instead of "picture perfect," we just get picture. Each year, we simply snap a quick photo after church. We have some really awesome people who decorate so beautifully and it seems like the perfect place to click the camera and call it a year. It's become a tradition...
2010 brought much of the same...older boys too cool for a family photo, hubby lacking patience with the little one, and me, dreaming of just one good shot.
This year, Gavin is in to making silly faces. Every picture has him making a silly face, dancing, or holding a banana. Yes, a banana....don't ask!
Maybe when Gavin is a bit older I will fork out some cash for a good picture. For now, I will stick with our current plan. It's more adventurous and certainly holds many more memories!
From our family to yours, Merry Christmas!
Keepin' it Real...D
