“Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.”
~ Proverbs 31:11
Full confidence.
Does your hubby trust you? I loved thinking about this question. Partly because after the last two weeks, I think I did okay with this one {finally}!
Courtney gives us some prompts to see where we may be lacking. I thought about our finances and I know my husband trusts me with the checkbook because he knows I won't be tempted to over-indulge. I know he trusts me with my kids, specifically with Gavin. We made the choice to homeschool for preschool and I believe he is confident with that decision because he knows I will pour into Gavin throughout the day. He entrusts our home to me - knowing that I will make it a welcoming place for family and friends. He can trust me to speak well of him and to be faithful to him. He and I balance each other out and he trusts my decisions. I feel like I am totally on the right track...and yet I know I have a lot of work to do as I emerge into the Proverbs 31 Woman.
And before you freak out like I did, Courtney also assures us that we don’t have to be all things at all times. We are not perfect…but in that imperfection, we should be learning and making changes to our behavior or our habits so that our husbands will have full confidence in us.
I think I have this one in the bag for the most part – and then God slaps me upside the head and says, “How about you work on this…?” I will be continuing my focus to simplify and live abundantly. I could probably spend a little more time keeping the house tidy and a little less time, say...blogging?
{Gasp!}
I am also going to work on that little thing called self-control. Sometimes, I fail miserably with this and simply crumble under pressure. I've been known to yell and cry and totally lose it over seemingly insignificant things. Remind me to tell you the cookie story someday...
What will you commit to working on so that your husband will have full confidence in you? Let's lift each other up in prayer this week!
Keepin’ it Real…D
Ahh...balance. Yep every time I pat myself on the back He just lets me know that I still have a lot of work to do :)
ReplyDeleteI totally think God has an incredible sense of humor with me!
